FIRPTA<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>(Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act)<\/strong>, foi uma lei criada em 1980 com o objetivo de fazer cumprir o\u00a0<strong>pagamento de impostos sobre os ganhos Em outras palavras, qualquer pessoa estrangeira que possua um im\u00f3vel nos EUA, estar\u00e1 sujeita a essa lei quando da venda da propriedade. A reten\u00e7\u00e3o do IRS (receita federal americana), atrav\u00e9s do imposto FIRPTA, \u00e9 de 10% do valor realizado pelo vendedor, mesmo se houver preju\u00edzo na venda do im\u00f3vel.<\/p><p>\u00c9 importante ressaltar que esse valor dever\u00e1 ser retido e remetido diretamente ao Fisco americano no momento do fechamento do contrato. Se o investidor estrangeiro demonstra estar em dia com seus impostos (imposto de renda, imposto sobre ganho capital, etc\u2026).
